Okay, so now it’s YOUR turn. In the comments below tell me if you map content to the Know Like Trust factor and if so, how?
The Content Marketing Funnel
The purpose of a content marketing sales funnel is to help your audience discover you through your amazing content and then lead them on a journey of discovery with you. They’ll first get to know about you, then like you, then trust you.
So your content marketing funnel looks like this: Know > Like > Trust.
Next, you need to think how you’re going to develop content for each stage of the process.
Here are some guideposts.
What Content Should you Develop at the KNOW Stage?
1. Videos, blog to build awareness
2. Blog Posts
3. Evergreen content like resources & guides.
4. How to content, lists etc
What Content Should you Develop at the LIKE Stage?
2. Vulnerable content
3. Social media content that highlights your interests and opinions
4. Email content
What Content Should you Develop at the TRUST Stage?
2. UGC (user-generated content)
3. Guest posts, 3rd party endorsement
4. Press mentions
5. Social proof, reviews, ratings
Once you have put in the effort to develop content at all three stages, you’ll find that it’s much easier to guide your potential customer through the next 3 stages, which are Try > Buy > Refer
By mapping content to the KLT funnel you help your audience understand who you are and what you stand for. You make it easy for them to trust you. People buy from people they trust, remember?
In the comments below tell me if you can think up some content for each stage of the Know Like Trust factor.
